Heading home
/We just arrived back in Mount Isa after a week long expedition to the Barkly karst conducted in parallel with our vertebrate palaeo colleagues from UNSW who study the Riversleigh World Heritage fossil site. We explored lots of new caves, retrieved data from our loggers in current study sites, and found new materials from the Miocene karst which might help to constrain the age of the Riversleigh fossils. note - the observant among you may be wondering why we appear to be wearing very little in the above image! These caves are 30 degrees C and 100% humidity - shorts are required (to maintain some decorum), anything else ends up soaking wet, so best left at the surface.
